Audited Supplier Disodium hydrogen phosphate is white crystal or crystalline powder. It is soluble in water and insoluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is weak alkaline, and the Ph value of 3.5% aqueous solution is 9.0-9.4. It is easy to be weathered into salt containing 7 crystalline water in air. When heated to 100ºC, it loses all crystalline water and becomes white powder anhydrous substance. When heated to 250ºC, it becomes sodium pyrophosphate.
Disodium Phosphate:White or colorless crystalline free flowing solid, efflorescent in air, easily soluble in water, but insoluble in alcohol, its water solution is slightly alkaline, relative density at 1.63, melting point at 34.6ºC.Disodium Phosphate can be used as a fire-prevention agent for fabric, timber, and paper, also as water softening agent for boiler, food additive, buffering agent, solder, tanning agent, etc.

Disodium Phosphate Application
In foods,Disodium Phosphate is used to adjust pH. Its presence prevents coagulation in the preparation of condensed milk. Similarly, Disodium Phosphate is used as an anti-caking additive in powdered products. Disodium Phosphate is used in desserts and puddings, e.g. Cream of Wheat to quicken cook time, and Jell-O Instant Pudding for thickening.
In water treatment, Disodium Phosphate retards calcium scale formation. Disodium Phosphate is also found in some detergents and cleaning agents.
