Sodium pyrophosphate is white powder or crystal, soluble in water. The solubility of 100g water at 20 ºC is 6.23. Its aqueous solution is alkaline and insoluble in alcohol. The aqueous solution is stable below 70 ºC, and hydrolyzes to disodium hydrogen phosphate when boiled. Weathering in dry air and losing crystalline water at 100 ºC.
